Birmingham 13/10 to beat Brentford in Saturday’s Championship clash

Competition: Championship

Market: Birmingham win

Odds: 13/10 @ Bet 365

With their sights firmly set on securing a playoff position this season, Birmingham will welcome Brentford to St. Andrew’s for their final game of 2018.

Starting with the hosts, while Birmingham may have spent the majority of last season battling it out at the foot of the table, the Blues are enjoying a far brighter campaign this time around. In their 24 games this season, they have won nine, drawn 10 and lost five, scoring 37 and conceding 27 in return. With a points tally of 37, a win on Saturday could see the hosts climb into the top-six. As for their recent run of form, Birmingham are now unbeaten in their last three Championship matches and have also lost just one of their last 19 matches at St. Andrew’s.

As for the visitors, while a bright start may have had Brentford dreaming of a playoff position, the departure of Dean Smith has seen Brentford drastically struggle. In their 24 games this season, they have won six, drawn eight and lost 10, scoring 35 and conceding 35. With a points tally of 26, their poor run of form has seen them freefall down to 18th in the table. Now winning just one of their last eight Championship matches, the visitors have also failed to win any of their last 12 matches away from Griffin Park.
