Big-spending Leicester City 2/5 to stay up in the Premier League next season

Posted May 13th, 2014 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Premier League
Market: Leicester to stay up
Odds: 2/5 @ William Hill

With the recent announcement from Leicester City’s owner that the club are willing to spend big to achieve their optimistic dream of getting into Europe within the next three years, staying up in the Premier League this season is the minimum expectation.

The Foxes are back in the top flight after a 10 years absence, and their billionaire owner won’t settle for consolidation in the 2014/15 campaign – reportedly saying he’d be willing to depart with £180M over three seasons for the club to achieve their European aspirations.

As a result, William Hill are giving odds of 2/5 for the Midlands side to remain in the division in their first season, and the future plan is continue building from there.

Under manager Nigel Pearson, City do have a strong outfit with the potential to surprise many in the league, and providing they spend in the summer to plug any gaps in the side with proven talent, there’s no reason why Leicester can’t enjoy a successful season back in the Premier League.
