Besiktas 4/6 to win against Olympiakos in Thursday’s Europa League clash
Competition: Europa League
Market: Besiktas to win against Olympiakos
Odds: 4/6 @ William Hill
Besiktas welcome Olympiakos to the Vodafone Arena in the second leg of Thursday’s Europa League last-16 meeting, and are big favourites to come out on top to progress to the quarter-finals. The two sides played out a stalemate in the first leg at the Karaiskakis Stadium and home advantage could now be the deciding factor in settling the tie.
Besiktas come into Thursday’s game in fantastic form, boasting five wins and two draws from their last seven games in all competitions. The Turkish outfit have won three and draw one of their last four home games, losing only once at the Vodafone Arena all season. And given they drew the away leg, a place in the quarter-finals should be Besiktas’ to lose.
As for the visitors, Olympiakos’ form has been inconsistent leading up to the second leg. The perennial Greek champions have suffered three defeats and two draws from their last eight games in all competitions, and lost in their most recent away game too. Given they couldn’t beat Besiktas in their own backyard, it’s hard to see them getting a result at a ground the hosts have lost once at this season.
As a result, William Hill are giving odds of 4/6 for Besiktas to win against Olympiakos in 90 minutes to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
