Belgium 6/5 to beat England in Saturdays World Cup third-place matchup

Competition: World Cup

Market: Belgium win

Odds: 6/5 @ Bet 365

Despite both sides being knocked out at the semi-final stage, Belgium and England will meet for the second time when they square off at the Saint-Petersburg Stadium in a battle for a third-place finish.

Starting with Belgium, although they dominated against France in midweek, The Red Devils fell to a 1-0 defeat against France that drew an end to an impressive tournament. After winning all of their Group G matches and finishing above their opponents on Saturday afternoon, Belgium were also able to knock out pre-tournament favorites Brazil and have also scored 14 goals in their six World Cup outings, including a 1-0 win over England in the group stages, as their loss to The Blues was Belgium’s first defeat of any kind since a friendly loss against Spain in September 2016, we are backing Belgium to secure third-place on Saturday.

As for England, although it was an impressive tournament for England’s inexperienced squad, The Whites slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Croatia in extra time that ended their World Cup dreams. Finishing second in Group G, while England have also impressed in front of goal, scoring 13 in their six appearances, Gareth Southgate’s side have only managed to keep one clean sheet this tournament and will struggle to keep out a free-scoring Belgium side.
