Bayern Munich 2/5 to see past Shakhtar in Tuesday’s Champions League second round first leg clash

Competition: Champions League
Market: Bayern to win against Shakhtar
Odds: 2/5 @ William Hill

Bayern are looking to avenge their failing in last season’s Champions League latter stages by getting away to a winning start in their second round clash against Shakhtar on Tuesday night. The German giants have been flying high in the Bundesliga this season, currently eight points clear of second place after 21 league games played.

They travel to face a Shakhtar side often tricky on the road, but Pep Guardiola’s men will be confident they can come away with a victory in the first leg. Bayern have won five of their six games in the European competition, beating the likes of Manchester City, CSKA Moscow and AS Roma to make it this far.

Bayern are among the favourites to go all the way in the Champions League, and are being backed by William Hill, with odds of 5/4 to win the first leg against Shakhtar. After a sluggish return from the winter break, a recent 8-0 win over Hamburg puts Bayern in good form ahead of a tricky clash, but they should have enough to get a result.
