Bayern Munich are hoping to all but confirm their place in the last-16 as group winners with a win against AS Roma tonight. The German Bundesliga holders thrashed the Italian Serie A runners-up 7-1 at Stadio Olimpico a fortnight ago, and now have the opportunity to get all three points at home too.

With three wins from three games, the Bundesliga leaders have been in fine form, and are being tipped by many to go all the way in Europe. Pep Guardiola’s side are unbeaten in the league this season, with a 100% record from home games in all competitions, conceding just two goals.

They will enjoy safe passage through at the summit of Group E with a win against Roma, but the Italians will be looking to get revenge for their humiliating thrashing two weeks ago. But considering nobody has managed a victory at the Allianz-Arena since April, it won’t be an easy task for Roma to win.

Rudi Garcia’s side risk being replaced by third-placed Manchester City if the Sky Blues better their result, so Roma will need to be bold this evening.
