There’s never a good time to face perennial Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, but Hannover host the German giants with Pep Guardiola’s side in the best form of the season. Bayern have won four consecutive league games, scoring a staggering 20 goals and conceding only one.

As for the hopeful hosts, Hannover are winless in their last seven league games, and were comprehensively thrashed 4-0 against Bayern when the two sides met earlier this season. This weekend’s clash between the air could turn out to be a very one-sided affair.

Bayern have been ruthless of late in regard to their incredible scoring run, so Hannover have a difficult task to stop them from hitting the back of the net. They boast a tough defence too – conceding only 10 goals in 23 league games – so the challenge couldn’t be more difficult for Hannover.

But the hosts can make life difficult for their opponents. They have won five and drawn two of 11 home games played this season, so the underdogs can perform in front of their fans. Hannover have beaten the likes of Schalke and Borussia Dortmund, so they won’t be too short of confidence.

Bayern Munich should have too much for their opponents this weekend, which may ultimately see them continue their fine scoring run, as well as picking up three points to move ever closer to sealing their third consecutive Bundesliga title.

Hannover were thrashed in their last meeting against the league leaders, and Bayern’s current form suggests history will repeat itself.
