With both sides desperate to gain a much-needed advantage and take one step into the Champions League final, on Wednesday night, Real Madrid will travel to the Allianz Arena.

For the hosts on Wednesday night, it has once again been another stellar year for the newly crowned Bundesliga Champions. With their domestic title wrapped up for another year, all attentions will be now on the Champions League. After coming through Sevilla with a score of 2-1 over both legs, Bayern have continued their impressive form and have now only lost one European match in their 10 outings this season. As for their recent results, Bayern are now unbeaten in their last seven, winning six and drawing one. It has been their form in the final third that has recently caught the eye,  Bayern have now scored three or more in five of their last six and now have 14 in their last three.

As for the visitors, while Real Madrid may have secured their position in the La Liga top four for another season, the Whites have all but relinquished their crown and now sit just two points away from dropping down to fourth in the table. With all their focus on lifting the Champions League again, despite finishing behind Tottenham in the group stages and most recently coming off the back of a last-gasp winner against Juventus, Madrid’s form has once again dipped. Madrid have now won just one in their last four in all competitions, drawing two and losing one, it will be their defensive issues that will cause the most concern. The Whites have now only managed to keep two clean sheets in their last 12 outings in all competitions.
