BATE Borisov 2/9 to win against SJK in tonight’s Champions League qualifier

Competition: Champions League
Market: BATE Borisov to win against SJK
Odds: 2/9 @ William Hill

BATE Borisov welcome Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho (SJK) to the Borisov Arena tonight for the first leg of the second round of the Champions League qualifiers, and are big favourites to come out on top given their history in the competition compared to the visitors, let alone the gulf in class between the two sides.

BATE booked their place in this summer’s Champions League qualifiers after winning the 2015 Premier League. This season, they are currently top of the table with 35 points from 15 games. Boasting five wins and one draw from their six home games, BATE will fancy their chances of delivering at the Borisov arena tonight.

As for their opponents, SJK won the Finnish Veikkausliiga title in 2015 to reach the Champions League qualifiers for the first time in their history. Last year saw them eliminated from the first round of the Europa League qualifiers so little is expected of them against the Belarusians.

In their domestic league this season, SJK have lost five of their nine away games, averaging less than a point per game on the road. And with BATE having participated in the Champions League group stage in each of the last season, William Hill are giving odds of 2/9 for BATE Borisov to win against SJK tonight.
