Manchester City face the daunting prospect of potentially being knocked out of the second competition in just three days when they face Barcelona in the last 16 of the Champions League this week – with a 2-0 deficit they will need to overturn at a ground where the Catalan giants have lost just once in Europe in the last five years.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men recently lost 2-1 at the hands of Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup quarter-finals to rule out the chances of them winning the quadruple this season. Not to mention, their form having dipped in the last few games too. The 1-0 win against Stoke in the Premier League was Pellegrini’s second victory since the end of January in all competitions.
