Atletico Mineiro welcome Vasco da Gama to the Estádio Independência in the Brazilian Serie A on Sunday evening, and are favourites to come out on top given the woeful form of their opponents. Atletico haven’t been pulling up trees themselves but Vasco have struggled for wins and have one of the worst away records in the division.

As for the hosts, Rogério Micale’s Atletico Mineiro side are currently 12th in the Brazilian Serie A with 20 points from 15 games this season, coming off the back of three wins and a draw from their last half a dozen outings. Atletico have picked up seven points from their previous six home games but will take hope from Vasco’s results on the road.

As for the visitors, Milton Mendes’ Vasco da Gama side find themselves one place above Atletico in the table but level on points, having picked up just one win from their last five games ahead of Sunday evening’s meeting.

Vasco have fared even worse on the road too, suffering four defeats and a draw from their last six outings, and William Hill are giving odds of 13/20 for Atletico Mineiro to win against Vasco da Gama as a result.
