La Liga holders Atletico Madrid host an in-form Real Sociedad tonight, and only a win will do for Diego Simeone’s side in their pursuit to retain the Spanish title. Currently nine points adrift of first-placed Barcelona with as many games to play, Atleti’s hopes of back-to-back crown looks unlikely, but they won’t give up until they’re mathematically ruled out of the equation.

Victory against Sociedad would see them cut the deficit to six points, at least until Wednesday when Barcelona face Almeria, so the holders will be desperate to deliver against David Moyes’ resilient side. Sociedad have won four of their last six games in the division, and are certainly safe from relegation now. They are targeting a top-10 finish in La Liga, and have improved their away form ahead of tonight’s clash – losing just once in their last four on the road.

They beat Atletico in their last league meeting, but Betfair are giving odds of 3/10 for the home side to pick up all three points this time round. Simeone’s men are near impossible to beat at the Vicente Calderon, and their pursuit for the title should see a performance worthy of the win.
