Atletico Madrid would normally be fearful of a trip to face Villarreal, but the Spanish giants are in decent form ahead of tonight’s clash, as well as the hosts being in woeful league form. Diego Simeone’s men have picked up eight points in their last four away games, while Villarreal are winless in their last seven outings.

The home side have little to play for this season, with their position staying fixed in 6th place regardless of their result, as they’re comfortably ahead of 7th and some distance from 5th. They have failed to score in their last three home games too, so Atletico Madrid will be full of confidence to come away as the victors.

Atleti’s third place in La Liga looks sealed this season, which is the best they can hope for with five games remaining. They are seven points off second-placed Real Madrid, and four points clear of fourth-placed Valencia.
