After going down to their fourth consecutive Premier League defeat, Aston Villa have found themselves dragged into the relegation battle for another week. Manager Paul Lambert also faces a difficult task in reassuring supporters that he’s the right man for the job, while the pressure on his shoulders is now intense.

Betfair are giving odds of 7/2 for Lambert to be the next manager to leave. The Scottish boss has been under a lot of criticism in the last few weeks while the side have gone down to defeats to Stoke, Fulham, and Crystal Palace – of whom have all done the double over the Villans this season.

With supporters now starting to turn on the manager, Lambert’s exit from the club seem almost inevitable unless a miracle end of the season run happens to show that Villa aren’t dead in the water. Their Premier League safety still looks certain due to sides below them having tougher run-ins, but Lambert’s future has question marks surrounding it.
