Aston Villa’s Gabriel Agbonlahor 7/2 to join AFC Bournemouth in January
Competition: Premier League
Market: Gabriel Agbonlahor to join Bournemouth
Odds: 7/2 @ Betfair
Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor is reportedly being eyed up by newly-promoted Premier League AFC Bournemouth after manager Remi Garde put the struggling forward up for sale. Agbonlahor has been a long-serving player for the Villans, but his form has spiralled in recent seasons and the Midlands outfit look to have finally lost patience in him. He’s unlikely to break the bank either, so could prove to be a thrifty option if he can find his form.
Having failed to score a goal in the league so far this season, the 29-year-old looks to be on his way out of Villa Park to fund a winter spree expected under Garde. Bournemouth are a side looking to bolster their attack with a pacey player following the season-ending injury suffered by Callum Wilson. The likes of Joshua King has done well when fit, but the Cherries are looking for more options.
Despite his poor form for Villa, Agbonlahor could be a useful player under the right guidance. Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe demands hard-working players looking to stretch the opposition’s defence, and the pacey Englishman certainly has the attributes to be a success. A move away from Villa Park could be what he needs to get his career back on track, and Betfair are giving odds of 7/2 for Gabriel Agbonlahor to join Bournemouth in the January transfer window.
