Aston Villa have been very busy in the transfer market this summer, making the majority of their signings from the French Ligue 1. Manager Tim Sherwood turned the club around in his short time in charge last season, and is hoping they can finally build and challenge higher up the table.

With the Claret and Blues having lost two key players in Christian Benteke and Fabian Delph in the summer, the Villa boss has spent the money on replacements and more strength in depth in both attack and midfield. Villa have shown signs of quality in pre-season, and are hoping they can finally put past relegation battles behind them.

Sherwood has already said that Aston Villa won’t be involved in a relegation battle in the coming season, and has plans to have them back into the top-half of the table where they belong. It’s been four years since the Midlands club finished in the top-10, and Bet 365 are giving odds of 9/2 for Villa to achieve it in 2015/16.
