Aston Villa’s last win at home ironically came against Hull City at the end of last season, and now the two sides meet once again at Villa Park. The Midlands outfit are the favourites for victory, but the Claret & Blues playing at home has seen them lose 10 home games last season, nine in 2012/13, and eight in 2011/12.

Manager Paul Lambert knows he must finally put that right, and Villa did earn an impressive draw at home to Newcastle this season, so coupled with their away win against Stoke, it’s been a good start for the Villains.

Hull City have also taken four points from their first two games, beating Queens Park Rangers 1-0 and drawing 1-1 against Stoke City. The tail-end of the previous campaign saw them getting closer and close to the drop zone, but Steve Bruce’s side held out and survived relegation.

The Tigers have only taken a point from their two meetings against Villa since promotion to the top flight last summer, and Bet 365 are giving odds of 5/4 for Paul Lambert’s side to earn all three points at home.
