Arsenal 5/1 to finish outside of the Premier League top-four this season
Competition: Premier League
Market: Arsenal not to finish top-four
Odds: 5/1 @ William Hill
Arsenal suffered a 2-0 defeat away to Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday’s North London derby, leaving them 17 points adrift of their fierce rivals, and a top-four finish now looks highly unlikely. The Gunners have a game in hand on their competition, but their poor form and points deficit is likely to see them fall short at the end of the campaign.
Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal side are currently sixth in the Premier League table with 60 points from 33 games this season, having suffered two defeats in their last four outings. Arsenal have lost nine games already and can’t buy a win on the road – five defeats from their last six away games.
As things stand, the Gunners are six points adrift of the top-four, albeit having played a game fewer than third-placed Liverpool and fourth-placed Manchester City, but their inconsistent form doesn’t look like changing in the run-in.
Arsenal are on course for their worst finish in the division for some time and no Champions League football could see key players leaving and a struggle to convince top replacements through the door. As a result, William Hill are giving odds of 5/1 for Arsenal to finish outside of the top-four of the Premier League this season.
