Looking to continue on what has been a real purple patch in midweek, Arsenal will host Crystal Palace from behind closed doors on Thursday night.

Starting with the hosts, managing to extend on their FA Cup adventure over the weekend, Arsenal are certainly enjoying their brightest run so far this season. In their 17 Premier League matchups, they have recorded seven wins, two draws and eight defeats, scoring 20 and conceding 19 in return. Managing to muster themselves just a points tally of 23 after their rocky start to the 2020/21 campaign, the Gunners now find themselves sat three points adrift of breaking back into the top-half of the table. As for their recent run of results, eventually claiming a 2-0 win against Newcastle in the FA Cup last time out, Arsenal find themselves enjoying a four-match winning run across all formats. More impressive, Thursday’s hosts have conceded just a single strike in any of those four consecutive victories.

As for the visitors, watching their own FA Cup run come to an abrupt end on the road last weekend, Crystal Palace are a side who are desperately seeking some stability. In their 17 Premier League matchups this season, they have recorded six wins, four draws and seven defeats, scoring 22 and conceding 29 in return. Collecting a points tally of 22 and still sat four points adrift of breaking into the top-half of the table, it should also be highlighted that the Eagles hold the third-worst defensive record in the division. As for their recent run of results, crashing out of the FA Cup thanks to a 1-0 loss away at fellow Premier League outfit Wolves last time out, Crystal Palace have managed to record just a single victory in any of their last seven matchups across all formats. Given the recent gulf in class between the two sides, we’re backing a home victory on Thursday night.
