Anderlecht 8/13 to win against APOEL Nicosia in Thursday’s Europa League clash

Posted March 15th, 2017 | By: Crippy Cooke

Competition: Europa League
Market: Anderlecht to win against APOEL
Odds: 8/13 @ William Hill

Anderlecht welcome APOEL Nicosia to the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium in the second leg of Thursday’s Europa League last-16 meeting, and are favourites to come out on top given they already boast a 1-0 aggregate lead from the first leg at the GSP Stadium.

Avoiding defeat would be enough to see Anderlecht through, but home advantage should see them get a result against an APOEL side who have been losing games in recent weeks. As for the hosts, Anderlecht have won six of their last eight games in all competitions and haven’t lost at home since December 2016.

As for the visitors, APOEL Nicosia have been inconsistent of late, suffering three defeats from their last six games in all competitions, while losing their previous two away outings too. And given they came unstuck without scoring in the home leg to Anderlecht, it’s hard to see them getting a result at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium this week.

Anderlecht have been solid on home soil while APOEL have struggled on the road of late, and William Hill are giving odds of 8/13 for the hosts to come out on top on Thursday as a result.
