Two nations who are looking to secure a quarter-finals spot at this year’s African Cup of Nations, Algeria will face off against Guinea on Sunday night.

Starting a resurgent Algeria, enjoying a stellar run of form, they are seen to be one of the leading contenders out in Egypt this summer. In their three Group C matchups, they recorded consecutive victories, scoring six goals and recording clean sheets in each of those three wins. One of just three teams to yet concede a single goal at this year’s African Cup of Nations, Algeria are now enjoying a four-match winning run across all competitions and are yet to taste defeat in any of their last nine appearances, winning all bar two of those contests.

As for Guinea, while they may have managed to secure a route out of Group B as one of the third best finishers, they are still a nation struggling with their consistency. Winning just one of their three matches out in Egypt this summer, Guinea have lost three of their last five matches across all competitions and have also now recorded just a single victory in their last eight appearances.
